I am a medieval historian by trade, with the good fortune to have studied at Cornell University for my B.A. in history and religious studies, and then to earn my doctorate from the University of Notre Dame's interdisciplinary Medieval Institute at the end of 2010. I have very fond memories of both places. I served as a visiting lecturer at Georgia State University for three years. I spent the next year in Ithaca teaching part-time at Ithaca College while working on a book manuscript at Cornell University as a visitor sponsored by the History Department. In 2014 I moved to the sunnier climes of Scottsdale, AZ to work at Notre Dame Preparatory.
When not having fun with my students in the classroom or delving into dusty tomes full of the lore of olden days, I can usually be found outside. Hiking, skiing, fishing—anything that gets me out into the beauty of creation is worth doing in my opinion.
